Skywalk Gibraltar glass platform 340 metres views three countries

Skywalk Gibraltar

A glass-bottomed platform 340 metres above sea level at the summit of the Rock, higher than the top of the Shard. Opened in 2018 by Mark Hamill with a lightsaber. 360° views across three countries and two continents on a clear day. Connected via walking trails to the Windsor Suspension Bridge and the famous Apes' Den.

The only wild primates in Europe and undoubtedly Gibraltar's most famous residents. The Barbary Macaques roam freely through the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, completely accustomed to visitors. Legend has it that as long as the apes remain on the Rock, Gibraltar will stay British. Included in the Nature Reserve ticket.

Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park

The only wildlife park in Gibraltar, nestled in the beautiful Alameda Botanic Gardens. Home to rescued exotic animals including ring-tailed lemurs, cotton-top tamarins and African Grey parrots. You can walk among the lemurs. Small, affordable and focused on conservation, a genuinely special experience particularly for families.

Alameda Botanic Gardens

First opened in 1816, these beautiful gardens sit at the foot of the Rock and are home to over 1,900 plant species from Mediterranean climatic zones around the world. Free admission, open sunrise to sunset every day. A peaceful escape with shaded walkways, an open-air theatre and some trees said to be over 200 years old. The Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park sits within the gardens.

Day trips from Gibraltar

Andalusia on
your doorstep

Sotogrande is just 20 minutes from the apartment, Estepona 30 minutes, Tarifa 45 minutes and Marbella 50 minutes. Ronda, Seville and the white villages of Andalusia are all within easy reach for a day out.

Sotogrande

Famous for its world-class Valderrama Golf Club, upscale marina, and international polo events, plus long sandy beaches. A short distance from Gibraltar and well worth it for a long lunch or a round of golf.

Estepona

One of Andalusia's most charming towns, whitewashed streets bursting with flower pots, a beautiful historic old town, and excellent fish restaurants right on the seafront. Far less crowded than Marbella.

Bahia Park Waterpark

Just 14 miles from Gibraltar in northern Algeciras, over 10 pools and slides including the Gran Niagara, Kamikaze and Rio Salvaje. A popular family day out. Book tickets online in advance at bahiapark.com. Note that rubber rings, lockers and sun loungers are all charged separately on arrival.

Tarifa

Europe's southernmost point and kitesurfing capital, wide Atlantic beaches, a charming walled old town, and the best fast-ferry connection to Morocco. A real local feel away from the tourist trail.

50 min drive

Marbella

The glamour capital of the Costa del Sol. Explore the beautiful Plaza de los Naranjos in the old town, stroll Puerto Banús marina, or simply sit on the beach. Excellent restaurants, rooftop bars, and resort hotels.

Ronda

One of Spain's most dramatic cities, perched on a cliff above a 100-metre gorge and connected by the iconic Puente Nuevo bridge. The mountain road up through the white villages is an experience in itself. Hemingway's favourite town in Spain.

The capital of Andalusia. The Cathedral and Giralda tower, the Alcázar palace, the Barrio Santa Cruz, flamenco and tapas. A long day from Gibraltar but genuinely unmissable, or the perfect excuse to extend your stay with us.

30 min drive · Castellar de la Frontera

Zoo de Castellar

Not a conventional zoo, a private animal rescue centre that has been rehabilitating animals seized from illegal trafficking and smuggling since 1998. Over 500 animals and 120 species including Bengal tigers, lions, a black panther, lemurs, crocodiles and a unique albino porcupine. Sitting on the edge of the Los Alcornocales National Park, many of the rescued animals arrived via the Strait of Gibraltar smuggling route. 45 min drive to Tarifa, then 1 hr ferry

Tangier, Morocco

Africa is an hour away. Drive to Tarifa and take the fast ferry to Tangier Ville, which drops you right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the medina and Kasbah. Explore the ancient winding streets, colourful souks and rooftop cafés with views across the Strait. Try a traditional tagine, visit the Grand Socco, and be back in Gibraltar for dinner.
